Changing lanes
Move out of your normal driving position only to pass an obstruction, to overtake, or to get into position to turn right.
Use effective observation to know it’s safe to signal, with brake signal and/or trafficator (and perhaps an arm signal, for emphasis). Also glance over your shoulder to better understand reflections distorted in your door mirrors, and to make sure no one is in your blind angle. The pictures here will help you estimate if it’s safe to change lanes when there’s a car in a lane next to yours. |
