Mistakes

Learner drivers commonly make at least some of these :

• Slowing down (or signalling) too late
• Not considering the effect of slowing (EFFECTIVE use of centre mirror)
• De-clutching too early, known as "coasting" (only possible in a manual car)
• Crossing hands when steering
• Having clutch above biting point while easing off brake
• Avoiding handbrake to move away faster
• Applying handbrake before fully stopped
• "Riding the clutch" (only possible in a manual car)
