My website

This is the first site I built.  It uses a free online tool, as easy to use on smartphone as on desktop.  The tool offers all the functionality I've ever wanted.  I began with 6 pages; it has now grown to 250 (plus 500 blog posts).  A few have been deleted, many have been regrouped.  All have been simplified as teaching experience grew.  It has always been stable but I nonetheless archive it periodically.

My aim was initially to focus my own thinking, get my lesson delivery (and syllabus) in a sensible order, and be clear with my use of language.  It was not to promote my business.  Then, it served to avoid most pre-drive briefings and replace my repetition of the same info to many clients.  THIRD, it provides a means to prepare students for their next lesson (or recap their last).  FOURTH, it helps me know how often a page has been viewed so I can better manage its scope.  FIFTH, it provides a re-focus when I feel I'm "losing my way".  SIXTH, it shows me by what routes clients have reached me.  SEVENTH, it's a platform for occasional sales, blogging, and side-projects / other sites.  EIGHTH, its blog acts as a library of resources from my whole teaching life (research studies, official posts, and anecdotal experience).  NINTH, it's a quantifiable asset to sell on, in due course.
Most pages exist because multiple clients (sometime just 2-3) appeared to need particular material.  The remainder exist as a personal exercise to emphasise transferability from many backgrounds into the driving realm, or to demonstrate personal concern for an individual's learning.  Topics are grouped by approximate order in which they are taught.  Key internal references are hyperlinked.  Attention is given to clients working in English as a second language (e.g. most technical expressions are placed in quotation marks).
In future, this site should  (1) feature only my own artwork;  (2) have a brief first paragraph then a striking and memorable graphic before any more detailed text;  (3) be refocused to lead by 'skills' instead of 'topics';  (4) have a unique title per page;  (5) allow rapid searching by careful inclusion of a unique short word (or 3-letter sequence, such system as designates international airports) on each page ... and potentially for each client.
