Commerce
Driving is a sort of exchange. It's not done in isolation: there's action and reaction, both BY you and OF you.
And like any trading, of goods or info, a driver needs to understand their current environment, how that affects what they do next. Move (= sell/buy), or wait? See who else moves first? Pause; take stock. There's seldom a real rush. You want repeat business (= multiple successful journeys), not a single “transaction”. You want others to have confidence in your actions. They'll then share the open marketplace (= road space) equably with you. |
People who can't tell what you're about to do won't want to come anywhere near you—you'll be "too risky a business".
So, perhaps unlike "private enterprise", try to be predictable to all those strangers. They’re not your competitors in the "public sector" in which you each have equal licence to operate :)
