Drive !
Before driving, we move about relatively slow. We wriggle, then sit; we crawl, then toddle; we walk, then run. We're used to things beyond our reach changing only at a "human" pace, in time with our bodies.
|
Driving challenges all of this. Our "frame of reference" is no longer just our limbs, our bed, our desk or room. It's a big metal box, moving rapidly by itself. It's artificial. It's "inhuman".
Now things around us change faster than we're used to, faster than we like ! Worse, others buzz around us in their own metal boxes. The world beyond out windows spins, out of our control. Our heads spin, too. There's too much to do, "all at the same time" ! Fear not. The green words on this page sum up the logic of all that we need to do. Yes, there are rules, because roads are busy. Along with working the machine, that's it. Everything else comes second. We do the first things first.
