Your car
|
You might already have a car in which to practice. This will certainly help, even if it's different from mine.
To decide what to buy, think about (1) initial cost, (2) running cost (insurance; maintenance; vehicle tax; MoT), and (3) fuel. If you'll drive under 20,000 miles/year, a petrol-fuelled car is probably best, though it's less powerful at low speed (= easier to stall). Then there's EVs. For broader info, see guides on owning a car and a running cost comparator for new cars. |
I trust 6 used-car dealers to help you decide what suits you: Onions (West Heath); Smallbone & Son (Selly Oak); The Wigorn Garage (Selly Park); Glenavon Motors (Maypole); Park Garage Autos (Selly Park/Oak); Addison Road Garage (Kings Heath).
However, keep in mind that a brand-new car may cost LESS OVERALL as it'll be safer (= cheaper to insure) and use less fuel.
