Think of driving tests as confirmation you ARE competent, not as an attempt to jump a hurdle.
For the THEORY test, use reliable materials that include taking several mock tests: you must score consistently well before the real thing. Those aids should also tell you which areas you need to practice more.

For the PRACTICAL, take an instructor’s professional advice … or even two! S/he should know what the examiner will be looking for (that’s basic competence in car control, plus anticipating others’ behaviour).
You'll pass if they see you make a sample journey, safely and efficiently, without any help. Also watch a mock test or two, and do some mock tests yourself. (The pass rate is much higher for people who do realistic mock tests).
