Practical
Approach this step as a formal “confirmation of competence” rather than attempting to pass a threshold (like most academic exams).
After the test examiner gets you to read a number plate, they'll ask you a safety question about the car you've brought. A second question will be asked while you drive. They will explain where to go. Your drive will include one reversing exercise, some navigating for yourself, and perhaps an emergency stop. You'll be assessed for "eco-safe driving", but not marked on it. (See more here). |

TECHNIQUE : Like all tests, know what the examiner expects. Remember, they have only 40 minutes to decide if you seem safe to continue learning on your own. So, make everything you do obvious, but not exaggerated.
Stay focused by speaking what you see, what you’ll do next, or just repeat out loud the examiner’s instructions.
What matters is how your car looks to others, not how YOU feel (more likely just finesse). Here's my final advice. And consider taking someone with you.
