• Closeness (to edges, and to others)
• Position (along / aside the road)
• Understanding (of rules, priorities)
• Progress (as fast, or slow, as is safe)
• Behaviour (of other road users)
• Preparedness (to protect you/others)
• Communication (with others)
• Visibility (of yourself to others)
• Slopes and bends (in the road)
• Surface status (slippery?, solid?, holes?)
• Weather (wind, rain, low sun)
