Crossroads
This junction is where one road goes across another. White road markings at the edge or across a carriageway denote only traffic priority, not the end of one road / start of another.
Hidden crossroads will have a warning sign on approach. As with any junction, use the hazard routine : "MSPSL". Think of a crossroads as a turn off a major road (or a T-junction onto one) but "with an extra road opposite". Its shape can be + or x. A "staggered crossroads" is where the mouths of the minor road crossing the major one overlap but don't exactly line up. |

Among your usual observations, glance into ALL 3 OTHER BRANCHES so you know what's likely to develop. And after you've passed the crossroads, check for overtakers before speeding up again.
