Drive-thru
Drive-thrus look horrific but are always controlled by traffic lights, giving every "inlet" a chance to emerge. Markings guide you, just as with spiral ones (using lines, arrows, and words).
These follow the "water wheel" design of every roundabout.
Traffic is like the water. When there's lots of water, it can be faster for everyone if some of it passes straight through the middle of the wheel. There's then less causing turbulence on the outside. Only the water that needs to get to "outlets" round the circular edge goes that way.
