Software
Cars are like computer hardware. They're the machine you get to do something for you: in the case of a car, to move you to another place.
"Software" here is a combination of your brain and the car's "brain". Yours is fed by your eyes and ears, your hands and feet, kinesthesia (= balance and muscle position), and a little of your sense of smell. The car's brain is fed, for its part, by what its wheels and drivetrain (= engine, clutch, gears) are doing, its pitch and roll, and the ambient air quality / temperature. The two of you interact when your brain tells the car's "organs" to change what they're doing, to which its brain responds. YOU drive IT. |
Like well-written computer software, be efficient: use your eyes & brain lots so your feet & hands do the minimum, and the "databus" carrying your commands from your limbs to the machine, are well-timed, productive and few. That'll waste least energy through friction !
