Archaeology / Archæology
Your approach to a drive can be similar to unearthing the past, except that you're doing "discovering the future" instead.
Each discipline can be done (at least when you've little experience to guide your instincts) by tackling the task "in layers". With archaeology, you literally peel back the layers of time, uncovering serial cloakings of features which belie events you can no longer watch directly. It's like peeling off layers of clothing: each garment's shape and fabric tells its story of why its there. Driving draws on identical skills. But now you're reading ahead, dealing with what's coming next but also deeper into future events and implications. Like doing history "backwards". |
