Finesse

The practical test assesses safety, not particularly smoothness or comfort.

But it’s still worth aiming for that, too. Typical aspects to improve are:

• Seamless gear-changing
• Hand/finger position to steer
• Covering brake approaching hazard
• Efficient use of gears and brakes
• Efficient use of cruise control
• Pace, and timing, of hand controls

See finesse in practice. But, on your test, lack of it is unlikely to be marked as faults.
