Steering
Going forwards OR backwards, steer the way you want to go. For most corners at junctions, turn the steering wheel one full turn (360°).

Turn it smoothly, and only a little, to adjust your position as you go. Look well ahead. Turn less as you speed up. It's better for your tyres to turn only when the car is moving.
Good technique ("pull-push steering") keeps best control. It changes your direction most quickly and easily. It's also safer ...in 4 ways. If reversing, turn the wheel less than when going forward. Think about the overall sweep of your body as the front corners swing round. |
