Observing
Know what's around you before you act. This means before moving off or stopping, and before changing speed or direction.
It also means noticing (1) what's happening ahead, (2) clues for what MIGHT happen, and (3) where to look for early signs of other road users. Check "over, under, round, and through". |

This means thinking what to DO because of what you see, not just looking or seeing. (That is, EFFECTIVE observation of hazards).
