Trades
Construction, electricals, welding, civils, joinery, plastering, plumbing, …
All trades are practical. Driving's practical. Both have some theory behind them, and some finesse and technique for maximum speed and quality. But, at the end of the day, it's about getting the job done. That job MUST use your eyes, brain, hands, and feet. You've got controls to operate. You need to work around other tradespeople (= road users) to know when to act and when to pause. You'll need supplies, for your and your vehicle—you can't run on empty. |
Your tools (= car / van) will give you feedback as you go. Listen for it; feel your way through your work (= along the road), watching for stuff that'll trip you up / put a spanner in / slow you down. Plan ahead to keep going.
