Position
Keep the car in the “normal position” (see photopage), except to [1] pass an obstruction; [2] overtake a slow vehicle,;or [3] turn right. You might also need to [4] avoid a lane not going the way you want, or [5] a lane for only special vehicles. Be aware of parallax.
Your head has its own normal position unless you're looking into a blind spot. You hands have theirs unless you're actively steering, or using ancillary controls.
Good driving means "always being in the right place at the right time". So move at a speed to suit what's around, never faster than you can stop in the distance you know is clear. This might mean at no speed at all (= stopped). After all, you have control over ONLY YOUR position (by hands steering) and speed (by foot slowing or accelerating the engine or motor). In other words, know your boundaries.
