I was asked, not long ago, how often new road signs are created. Some are exceptions. But a new one was launched last week, being a “warning of small mammals”. The “Highly Commended” prize goes to the imaginative undergraduates of Selly Oak, who’ve creatively embellished some rather plain speed-bump triangles on Exeter Road.

But I never realised HOW MUCH BETTER it was to be when I swapped to a secondhand iPhone 6S. Bloody brill! Nav, Diary, Texts, Email, Catchup radio … and Phone. All clear, fast, accurate, polite, funny, and foresighted (it sets up a route to your next appointment). One small step for Man; a giant leap for Tim-kind.

However, the courts ruled in favour of a Mr Barreto, caught filming while driving. Here's a summary. The law is hence being reviewed, though any self-distraction causing the driver to lose control remains an offence. So when it comes to staying in contact on a journey you're driving, I've found no better than Apple's CarPlay. |
