"What matters is on the inside"

Cars sell well if they look pretty.  And an aerodynamic shape is more efficient, less climate-warming.  But you can sit on a bus or a park bench and enjoy everyone else's outsides!  As a driver, internal looks and feel matter more: that's where YOU spend your time.

While there, you only touch the steering wheel, gear control, and maybe a few ancillary buttons or handles.  (You'll also press a pedal or two, and your bum must enjoy its ride, of course).

So that's why I really do favour the Peugeot i-cockpit design.  Has it really been around TEN years now?  Driving anything else just feels, well ... a little awkward and harder work.

Every government agency routinely publishes such documents.  Big changes will be coming, chiefly surrounding in-car autonomy, but are as yet undetailed.

Why are blue AND red used on emergency vehicles' flashing lights?

Blue has for a long time been the traditional color used for emergency vehicles' flashing lights.  (In fact, it's a "reserved colour").

Blue is more striking than red, making such vehicles more noticeable. The colour is also often associated with trust and authority, aligning with their role.
So why red ones at the same time?  Isn't that just making a jumble of visual noise?  Perhaps because red connotes "Stop" (as in "Keep away").  Or because, before LED lighting, the blue wasn't very strong.  Or for similar reasons to road workers wearing orange AND green fluorescent workwear.

Yes, they certainly can end before the expected time (which is 40-50 minutes later). Here's why.

How much do you learn ?  The "Learning Pyramid"

8/4/2023

Studies show that varying your means of study improves your information retention and recall.

Also known as the "cone of learning", this pyramid (developed in 1960s by the US National Training Laboratory) suggests that most students only remember about 10% of what they read.  However, they retain nearly 90% when learnt through teaching others.

The model also suggests that varying study methods will lead to deeper learning and longer-term retention.
